    • Jordan last from demergent Labs, talked about his lessons learned and performance lessons learned from building Azle (TypeScript) and Kybra (Python) Canister Development Kits (CDKs).

  • the Ledger & Tokenization Working Group

    • WG meeting on Sep 19 decided “transfer and transfer_from” will go with Option 1 proposal as below:

      transfer op (and block); transfer_from op extends transfer op (current)

      • transfer and transfer_from are semantically equivalent in terms of balance transfers (the fact who initiated the transfer does not matter for this, but is only additional information)

  • NFT Token Standard Working Group

    • Dieter from DFINITY team updated: The WG is nearing completion of the basic NFT standard ICRC-7, with remaining community issues requiring immediate attention before WG and NNS voting.

  • Replica-signed queries

    • The replica-signed queries feature has integrated signature support into query responses, and a proposal for a replica version with query response signature has been accepted. Specification 1 of replica-signed queries has been made public, and the final part focuses on enabling agent-js and agent-rs to retrieve node public keys.

  • ckETH: a canister-issued Ether twin token on the IC

    • Manu from DFINITY Team updated: The “phase 2” integration, where ICP nodes also act as Ethereum mainnet nodes, and canisters can request ethereum state directly from ICP nodes. ckETH will launch in 2023 and build on HTTPS outcalls first.

General Regulations

  • The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been unsuccessful in obtaining information from Binance.US, following a lawsuit against the exchange and its international affiliate. The SEC has requested a federal magistrate judge to allow inspection and information sharing.
