General Regulations

  • The UK regulator is mulling whether to bring crypto memes under updated guidance on financial promotions, including across social media.

  • Nasdaq (NDAQ) is dropping its plans for a crypto custody service, which was slated to go live in the second quarter of this year, CEO Adena Friedman said in an earnings call on Wednesday.

  • Kuwait’s capital markets regulator banned bitcoin mining this week as they reiterated prohibitions on crypto activities.

  • US House Committer on Agriculture introduced the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act. The bill is to establish a regulatory fraework for digital assets.

Industry News

  • The Group of 20 top nations' Financial Stability Board (FSB) said crypto businesses must implement basic safety measures as part of the global regulatory framework to avoid future incidents like the one at the FTX exchange.

  • Chainlink's Interoperability Protocol,CCIP is launched. The launch of the standard that could connect all of the blockchains and all of the bank chains, Sergey Nazarov said in an interview with CoinDesk.

  • Uniswap, the world's largest decentralized crypto exchange, unveiled a new blockchain protocol "UniswapX" for trading across automated market makers (AMMs) and other liquidity sources.UniswapX will expand to gas-free cross-chain swaps, according to the company.
