IC Protocol Updates and Forum Digest

• European subnet on the Internet Computer: A Step Toward GDPR-Ready Infrastructure

  • DFINITY Foundation about to submit proposal for EU subnet on Internet Computer, offering GDPR-aligned infrastructure for decentralised applications.

• PocketIC: Multi-Subnet Canister Testing

  • PocketIC v2.0.0 allows canister developers to test in multi-subnet settings, with updates to Rust library and Python library in server version.

• Fiat on-ramp integration in the NNS dapp

  •  As 1st step, single fiat on-ramp provider will be implemented for testing, followed by adding more providers to cover various fiat currencies and countries.

• ckETH: a canister-issued Ether twin token on the IC

  • Proposal 126173 for ckETH installation is raised. The code, which has been running in ckSepoliaETH for two months without major security findings. More features will come, including UIs for conversions and EVM RPC canister.
