General Regulations

• South Korea Financial Regulator proposes consumer protection rules for crypto users, requiring service providers to segregate user assets, have insurance, hold reserves in cold wallets, and maintain transaction records.

• The Basel Committee for Banking Supervision is proposing stricter criteria for stablecoins, aiming to ensure their reserve assets have short-term maturity, high credit quality, and low volatility.

• BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF now allows Wall Street banks to participate, allowing authorized participants to create new shares with cash instead of cryptocurrency.
